The first thing you have to know is this place runs like a co-op for the providers. Each provider is an independent contractor so they are solely responsible for their services. As always, one should interview the service provider to see if you're on the same wavelength. I went there for a massage. I walked in cold to see how I'd be greeted and try to pick up on the vibe. The place was clean and pleasant, as was the perky, cheerful woman who greeted me (I apologize, I cannot remember your name but you were professional and welcoming, couldn't ask for more). We made the appointment with Sarah Ackerman. Sarah is a certified massage therapist, also teaches a birthing technique and is a medical technologist. I've been a devotee of massage for many years and Sarah is a superior provider. We went for a Swedish/stress relief massage and it was great. We spoke of many things before she started and I could tell she listened as she worked the areas where I asked for special attention. I'm going back soon for a therapeutic massage and hope to make Sarah's services a regular thing. I recommend her highly.
Wow, what can I say about the terrible haircut I received this past Friday. First off, I realize this is a salon, one which has mostly female customers. If cutting a man's hair is too difficult or not worth your time (which is the impression I was left with), plainly state that your specialty is women. Second, a medium fade is just that, a medium fade. The fade part of the haircut is essential to that. I wish I got the fade I asked for. Although their lighting isn't great, in that the lack of a fade didn't stand out, I still should have noticed that, so that is partly my fault. Lastly, when you cut someone's hair, do just that, cut it. As is the case here, I have patches of uncut hair by my ears and apparently the back of my head. This would have been impossible to notice in the salon, as their lighting is not good enough to notice this. I don't think the woman who cut my hair even gave me a 1 1/2 length like I asked for, either that or she just didn't cut my hair properly. One last thing, how can you not clean the hair off the client you just worked on? Is it that difficult to even wipe the hair off with a towel or brush? Needles to say I will not go back there and will not recommend this place and will just go to Great Clips instead.
I had a wonderful Brazilian waxing experience with Janine. I'll definitely be back, and would recommend her for all your waxing needs. She is very sanitary and concerned about salon sanitationit, put my mind at ease. Thanks Janine!
